Storyline:
Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Hema Malini’s on-the-road campaign in Mathura yielded some of the best memes of the year. Among them, my favourite, was Malini crouching under a haystack, held by an old frail lady. Shimla Mirchi is the cinematic version of that meme, where Malini is the film and the old lady is the script.
A young man who gets tongue-tied around women writes a love letter to his crush, but it ends up in the hands of her mother, who thinks it’s for her.
A man under the spell of love decides to stay back and start working at the place he had come down for a vacation. He reverts to sending a letter to the woman he had fallen for, but the woman uses the vagueness of the letter to boost her mother’s confidence, making her think she has a secret admirer.
While on a family trip to Shimla, Avinash falls in love with Naina who stays with her mother. However, things get complicated when Naina gives Avinash’s love letter to her mother.
